SUMMARY:MA/IN25 - KORA①
DESCRIPTION:© Circa Tono [The Entropic Arias]\n \n🎟 biglietti disponibili solo in loco\n▷ opening / installazione\nh 20.30\n⦿ Francesco Enea Gueli [IT] /// Rimuginio\nsound installation \n▷ concerto\nh 21.00\n⦿ Amma Ateria [HK/US] /// The Entropic Arias  \nlive A/V performance \n⦿ Simone Faraci [IT] /// Xiamma\nlive performance \n\n/// Rimuginio [sound art]  (Rumination) is a sound installation that stages obsessive and circular thought through a simple\, mechanical\, and relentless gesture: a marker drawing circles on a sheet of paper. Driven by a hidden motor\, the vibrations generated are amplified through a resonant surface\, creating a raw yet vibrant sonic landscape. The work is inspired by the psychological concept of rumination: the continuous recurrence of a thought that fails to reach resolution. In this drawing machine\, imprecise yet persistent\, one can see a reflection of the human mind\, trapped within its own internal circuits. The audience is invited to participate actively: the installation detects the distance of spectators\, altering the speed of the drawing and transforming the sonic environment. Human interaction\, interpreted as a potential helping hand\, provokes deviations in the marker’s behavior. On the contrary\, a distant observer allows the device to continue its obsessive and imprecise motion undisturbed.\nFrancesco Enea Gueli /// Born in Florence in 2003\, his musical journey began at the age of five when he started studying the violin\, obtaining his Suzuki diploma and then completing his pre-academic conservatory studies. He attended the degree course in “Applied Music” at the Fiesole School of Music where he studied with Alberto Gatti and Girolamo Deraco\, and collaborated with prof. Damiano Meacci. He has attended the final year of the course as an Erasmus student at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid\, where he studied with Julián Ávila Sausor and Alberto Bernal Corral. He has taken part in masterclasses with professors Cesare Saldicco (Milan) and Hara Alonso (Stockholm). He continues his violin career\, having recently played with the Italian Youth Orchestra and the European Youth Orchestra in Madrid. He has collaborated with the Gynaikos Quartet\, which played one of his pieces in the ChorAsis exhibition space (Prato)\, and was recently selected to participate in the biennial electronic music festival In-Sonora\, which takes place in Madrid.\n \n\n/// The Entropic Arias  [A/V performance] With ‘The Entropic Arias’\, Amma Ateria sonically encapsulates her post-concussion neurogenesis as it enters stages of maximal entropy. Out of 270 sonic fragments\, series of movements emerges —each an abstraction navigating the acceleration of entropy toward a state of equilibrium. This work unfolds as an immersive audiovisual memento and documentation\, blurring the line between collapse and emergence\, mirroring dissonance : harmony\, limerence : surrender. It invites audiences into a space where breakdowns—sonic or cognitive—become thresholds for clarity and balance for meditation. \nAmma Ateria /// is an electroacoustic composer working in psychoacoustics\, binaural beats and equal-loudness contour. Her focus remains faithful to both extremes of polarity in systemic spectrums — soft : severe\, entropy : equilibrium\, utilizing brainwave entrainment\, time shifts\, and neurological responses to DELTA\, THETA\, ALPHA\, BETA\, and GAMMA waves as material. Born in Hong Kong\, working in San Francisco and New York City —with memories of condensed cities\, she gravitates to frequencies of close-ranged airplanes\, polyrhythmic occurrences\, out-of-body experiences\, and sustained harmonics intersected with musique concrète. Ateria studied at Mills College in music composition\, specialization in electronic music\, audio engineering\, and media technology; presented works at Pioneer Works\, Titanik Gallery\, BAMPFA\, Exploratorium\, Marfa Sounding\, CCRMA Stanford University\, Cinematheque\, YBCA\, Minnesota Street Project\, Other Minds\, Recombinant Lab’\, Cone Shape Top\, Fort Mason Arts & Culture\, Gray Area\, The Lab\, SFEMF\, GAIDA Festival\, Elektronmusikstudion\, Blaues Rauschen\, The Music Gallery\, FIMAV\, Digital in Berlin\, Meakusma\, TwentyAlpha\, Silence Touch\, 2220 Arts + Archives\, Public Records. \n\n/// Xiamma [performance] is a solo electroacoustic performance emerging from research on musical form\, memory\, and the perception of time. The work deconstructs and reassembles diverse musical languages – including jazz\, hip-hop\, ambient\, rock\, and electroacoustic music – to create a continuously evolving soundscape. At its core\, Xiamma investigates the composition\, decomposition\, and recomposition of musical form\, exploring sound as a tactile material and the relationship between listening and touch. The structure is open\, with a variable duration between 15 and 50 minutes\, and is built from a sequence of independent sections – self-contained sonic ecosystems – that can be recombined in different ways for each presentation. This modular approach adapts the performance to the specific context and ensures that no two presentations are ever the same. Improvisation and live processing of sonic materials play a central role in shaping the work in real time.\nSimone Faraci /// is a composer and improviser based in Bologna\, whose artistic research focuses on improvisation and experimental electronic music. He mainly composes music for sound installations\, dance and theater\, and his live activity spans both underground and institutional contexts\, with works presented in Italy and abroad. As an improviser\, he has performed with Francesco Giomi\, Alvin Curran\, and Giancarlo Schiaffini. In 2017 he founded Minus Collettivo\, a group dedicated to electroacoustic improvisation\, with which he has performed at several internationally renowned festivals. Since 2019 he has collaborated with TREE (Tempo Reale Electroacoustic Ensemble)\, with which he has performed numerous concerts and released albums with the French label Elli Records. His discography includes solo releases (Echo ex Machina\, 2021; Mføku\, 2023) as well as several albums with Minus Collettivo and TREE. He teaches Electroacoustic Music Composition at the Bologna Conservatory and is coordinator of educational activities at Tempo Reale.

How truthful and courageous can you truly be? – L’amour pur is a collaboration with composer and sound designer Victor Zheng for engineering and live electronics for the live performance.\nLiann J. Kang /// Born in Seoul\, South Korea\, Liann J. Kang is a composer residing in the US. In her work\, she seeks to direct the audience’s perception of sound and space altered by crafted sonic illusions. Inspired by her own synesthesia\, her compositions stimulate not only hearing\, but all the senses collectively to each awaken uniquely in response to the temporal art of music. Kang is a 2025 Tanglewood Music Center Composition Fellow and has received 2025 ICMC Best Student Music Award\, First Prize of the 2024 Sweetwater/SEAMUS Commission Award\, and 2024 Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellowship. Her works have featured internationally at events and conferences including SEAMUS\, EMM\, NYCEMF\, ICMC\, Napoleon Electronic Media Festival\, CHIMEFest at University of Chicago\, Sound Spaces in Malmö\, Sweden. Her primary teachers have included Philippe Hurel\, Yan Maresz\, João Pedro Oliveira\, Eli Fieldsteel\, and has previously had masterclasses led by Kaija Saariaho and John Harbison. Currently\, Kang is a doctoral candidate in composition-theory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign\, where she also earned her Master of Music.\nElonora Claps [soprano] /// Born in Lucania\, she studied at the “G. Martucci” Conservatory of Salerno under E. Scatarzi and specialized with A. Caiello\, J. Fraser\, Sarah Maria Sun\, and D. M.-Dansac\, attending institutions such as the Royaumont Foundation\, John-Cage-Orgel Foundation\, Darmstädter Ferienkurse\, and Verona Opera Academy. Her repertoire embraces a wide range of vocal styles with a strong focus on 20th-century and contemporary music\, both acoustic and electroacoustic. She collaborates with composers\, ensembles\, and research centers such as the CRM in Rome and the Conservatory of Salerno\, and she performs regularly in international festivals and venues\, including the Venice Biennale\, Auditorium Parco della Musica (Rome)\, San Fedele (Milan)\, and the Abrons Art Center (New York). A finalist of the “Premio Bucchi Interpretazione 2015\,” she has premiered numerous works\, with commissions dedicated to her at SpazioMusica and the MA/IN Festival. Her repertoire includes works by Berio\, Cage\, Ligeti\, and Kurtág\, and she has recorded for Stradivarius\, Edizioni Scientifiche\, and Cesmel. \n\n/// Laminar Flow [performance] In fluid dynamics\, laminar flow describes the motion of infinitesimal layers sliding in parallel\, without turbulence or mixing\, each preserving its own molecular composition. Even at a microscopic level\, every section remains distinct\, yet the overall result is a single coherent flow\, shaped by the sum of its trajectories. This principle inspires Laminar Flow\, an electroacoustic improvisation in which three sound currents — Andrea Fabris’ drums and live electronics\, Riccardo Tesorini’s modular synthesizers\, and Biagio Cavallo’s digital processing — evolve as independent yet complementary layers\, intertwining into a shared continuum. Subtle timbral and dynamic variations shape a landscape in constant expansion and contraction\, evoking the tension and cohesion of a collective ritual. In this way\, the trio Haou Nebout envisions a sonic world where distinct musical currents intertwine\, echoing the measured flow of individual elements — a living space where sound is inhabited\, constructed\, and transformed\, and where performers and listeners become part of the same\, ever-evolving ritual.\nHaou Nebout /// is an electroacoustic trio based in Bologna (IT)\, featuring Biagio Cavallo (laptop)\, Andrea Fabris (drums\, live electronics)\, and Riccardo Tesorini (synthesizers\, samplers). The group explores the intersections of non-idiomatic improvisation and new territories of sound research\, developing a sonic landscape where the archaic meets the post-human\, and apocalyptic imagery evokes a return to the origins. Recently\, they have collaborated with the label Small Forms (Wien) on their first album\, released in December 2024. Since 2023\, they have been touring Europe presenting frontal electroacoustic improvisation\, multi- channel performances\, and sound installation\n \n\n/// Concrete Casings [A/V performance] The outskirts of Rome are dotted with intentions and ideas that were never brought to fruition. Illegal construction\, rigged contracts\, and neglect have resulted in the proliferation of abandoned construction sites\, destined to remain an indelible testimony to such errors. These dilapidated exoskeletons are memories like fossils from past epochs. The unfinished structures\, left incomplete\, tell stories of unfulfilled promises and shattered dreams. Instead of being vibrant and prosperous\, the peripheral neighborhoods host these carcasses of concrete and steel that degrade the urban environment and scar the landscape. Each abandoned building carries with it a narrative of corruption and inefficiency\, a story of betrayed hopes and wasted resources. The rusted scaffolding and incomplete walls are silent monuments to mismanagement\, a perpetual warning of the consequences of greed and negligence. These urban skeletons\, though immobile and silent\, scream a reality too often ignored. They are the tangible proof of a system in dire need of profound reforms and a new vision\, one that can transform intentions into accomplished actions and restore dignity and beauty to Rome’s outskirts.\nTouchy Toy ///  was founded in 2021 by Gabriele Petrillo\, Andrea Lupo\, and Matteo Camerini\, classmates in Electronic Music Composition at Saint Louis College of Music in Rome. In 2023\, Christian D’Amico and David Quintarelli joined the collective. Their work explores the interplay between technology and aesthetics through sound installations\, audiovisual performances\, and musical compositions. Inspired by a utopian vision of the digital age\, their style blends pop culture references with semantic short-circuits. Touchy Toy has presented works at festivals and venues such as Ladispolaneamente\, CIM (Colloquio di Informatica Musicale)\, Palazzo Brancaccio (LCF)\, Nuovo Cinema Aquila (LPM)\, and Brancaleone\, often experimenting with live coding. Their A/V performance Concrete Casings premiered at the Visual Sound Festival (Nuovo Cinema Aquila) and was later showcased at PatchLab Festival (Kraków)\, D-CAF (Cairo)\, Chromosphere at Fotonica 2024 (dome version) and Videocittà 2025.

From creating dreamlike environments to performances using light and sound installations\, NONOTAK present their own format of art to the world. Combining Noemi Schipfer’s experience in kinetic visual and Takami Nakamato’s approach of space and sound\, the studio creates ethereal environments immersing the viewer. \n\nPercées de lumière [mixed media] /// is an audiovisual performance by composer Tomislav Oliver (music) and video artist Goran Nježić\, that explores new sonic potentials of acoustic instruments within electronic music\, composition\, and improvisation. Inspired by the “no-input mixer” practices of Toshimaru Nakamura and Marko Ciciliani\, the piece investigates feedback as it interacts with the material “architectures” of wind instruments. Treating the saxophone’s resonating chamber as a feedback generator\, the instrument is reimagined as a modular system that transcends its traditional idiom. The visual concept draws on the Espace de projection hall where the work was performed\, its modular underground design virtually deconstructed and rearranged. A 3D reconstruction of one wall was manipulated—perforated\, rotated\, relit\, and reframed—to create shifting perspectives. Echoing the sonic process\, the video recontextualizes performance space through layered experiments with light\, shadow\, and architectural fragmentation. As an homage to Gordon Matta-Clark\, the piece explores the imperceptible and the interplay of visual and auditory spaces through the poetics of feedback and the stillness of noise.\nTomislav Oliver ///  is a composer and musicologist blending electronic\, noise\, and contemporary composition. This performance reveals these invisible forces\, essential and imperceptible to the eye and ear\, which orchestrate our gestures and movements. Residual electrical signals are picked up by electromagnetic transducer microphones. Recorded beforehand\, they then become Martin Messier’s raw materials. On stage\, the artist interacts with two aluminum panels\, linked by a network of cables that he continually connects and disconnects\, generating a choreography of sound and light. From these repeated gestures\, a hypnotic composition emerges. Evolving in an infinite loop\, each iteration\, though familiar\, is different. The visual power of the work\, evoked by electrical conduction and lightning-like flashes of light\, plunges viewers into a state of fascination. This revelation of electromagnetic forces brings us closer to their mystery\, making the inaccessible tangible. With surgical synchronization of light and sound\, and shadow effects that animate a constantly changing landscape\, Field is a landmark project in Martin Messier’s artistic research.\nMartin Messier ///  orchestrates a dialogue between sound\, light and movement. His award-winning performances and installations (Prix Ars Electronica\, Japan Media Arts Awards…) combine technologies with natural elements – water\, smoke\, waves\, electricity – and explore the manifestation of physical phenomena. His works take the form of astonishing machines\, structures that appear minimalist or immaterial. These devices are presented at major international institutions such as Festival TransAmériques\, Trafó Budapest\, Mutek\, Transmediale\, Sonar and Nemo.\n \n\n

SUMMARY:MA/IN25 - PLAY~ il performativo in musica [vol.1]
DESCRIPTION:© LOXOS [Play~]\n \n🎟 free\nh 11.00\nGiacomo Fronzi [IT] /// PLAY~ il performativo in musica [vol.1]: Fluxus e la svolta performativa\n* MA/IN ACADEMY\n \nh 12.00\n/// TALK~ con la partecipazione di Michele Marco Rossi e Roberto Vetrano \nWhenever the word “performance” is used in the arts\, it is crucial to distinguish between performance as execution and performance as creation. In the case of music\, for most of its (Western) history\, it belongs to the first category\, since\, like theater and dance\, it is a performative art that can only “exist” through being performed and interpreted.However\, particularly from the time of John Cage\, the body and its interactions with the surrounding environment began to attract theoretical and practical attention\, going beyond mere execution or interpretation of a score and opening up a new\, unprecedented performative dimension. When it comes to the “performative turn” in music\, the Fluxus composers remain an essential reference. Their work is characterized by a constant blending of different expressive media. The members of Fluxus were driven by a desire to creatively engage with the world—its contradictions\, illusions\, and chaos—while always emphasizing live\, performative interaction with the audience. \nGiacomo Fronzi /// is an Associate Professor of Aesthetics and Aesthetics of the Performing Arts at the University of Bari Aldo Moro. He holds degrees in Philosophy from the University of Lecce and in Musicology from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice\, and earned a PhD in Ethics and Philosophical Anthropology from the University of Salento in 2008 with a thesis entitled Between Relation and Relativism: Aspects of Twentieth-Century Thought. Graduate in piano from the “T. Schipa” Conservatory in Lecce\, Fronzi has developed an interdisciplinary profile combining philosophy\, music\, and aesthetics. His main research interests include contemporary aesthetics\, philosophy of music\, and the critical thought of Theodor W. Adorno. He is the author of over eighty publications\, including seven monographs\, and has edited volumes on electroacoustic music\, contemporary aesthetic experiences\, and musical criticism. He has collaborated with institutions such as Teatro Petruzzelli\, Teatro San Carlo\, and Teatro alla Scala\, contributing to program notes and participating in international conferences. Fronzi is also active in cultural broadcasting\, having worked with RSI and Rai Radio3 as a host and music expert. For the Enciclopedia della Musica 1900–2015 (Treccani)\, he has written entries on “Revolutions and Music\,” “Experimental Music\,” and “Protest Song.” He is a member of the National Board of the Italian Society of Aesthetics (SIE) and has participated in numerous research and teaching projects in aesthetics and philosophy. \n\n\n\n\n⊕ MA/IN academy\nis a structured program dedicated to training and education in contemporary music\, multi-level and multi-target: the offering for the general public includes Luca Iavarone’s lecture-concerts\, in which he presents each year a period in the history of electronic music from the 20th century to today; talks with artists and listening introductions; and concerts dedicated to the centenaries of some great composers. The proposal for students of music high schools includes masterclasses with selected artists to introduce them to the creative process and active participation in some project activities. The involvement of students from the partner conservatories consists of a training path that allows them to work directly with important composers in the creation of electroacoustic compositions to be presented within MA/IN. Finally\, there is an advanced program for young composers selected through the international call for the presentation of their works in world premiere.

It will be presented as an audio-video live show characterized by a powerful visual and acoustic impact: the themes\, represented with raw sincerity\, are related to current events\, climate change\, and humankind’s effect on the earth. GREY LINE leads the audience inside a thoughtful analysis of the world’s current situation. Programming has a central role in the work of the artistic collective; “crafting” audio and video instruments allows complete and unique control over the production and manipulation of sounds and images in real-time and over their interaction. SPIME.IM exploits a wide variety of audio/video digital processing techniques\, including databending and datamoshing\, AI-assisted video synthesis\, computer vision analysis and tracking\, spectral processing\, 3D graphics\, and automated audio-video montage—The programming languages the collective uses the most are GLSL\, C\, Javascript\, Csound\, Reaktor\, and Max/MSP. Of the latter\, a SPIME.IM member\, Matteo Marson\, is a developer at Cycling ’74\, alongside his role as a University lecturer of “multimedia programming for the arts. The complexity of the modern world is reflected in the shades of gray\, emphasizing the nuances of human experience and the multifaceted decisions we must make to survive and thrive in an interconnected\, globalized society. The interplay between light and dark\, good and bad\, highlights that the modern world is not composed of absolutes but instead of an intricate mosaic of shades of gray that requires careful consideration and thoughtful action. Starting from the exposure\, the assimilation\, and the analysis of the continuous media bombing\, in an attempt to define this “era of the absurd” we are living in\, also named “the wrong timeline\,” SPIME.IM tries to describe the emotional place in which we are trapped.\nSPIME.IM /// is an artistic collective that creates transmedia projects investigating the aesthetics and languages derived from the affirmation of digital reality. The themes they explore mainly revolve around the boundaries of identity\, corporeality\, and the perception of the human being in the absurd times mankind is facing. Using various types of aesthetics such as news footage\, memes\, and computer-generated images\, they aim to draw connections between contemporary events and abstract insights\, with the intention of making sense of it all or perhaps simply romanticizing the chaos. They have presented their work at international digital art festivals such as Mutek (Canada\, Japan\, and Spain)\, Ars Electronica\, Club to Club\, Lunchmeat\, Stereolux\, and L.E.V. Additionally\, they presented their latest multimedia production\, “The End Of The World\,” at the Barbican Centre in London with internationally renowned pianist and composer Lubomyr Melnyk\, cellist Julia Kent\, the vocal group Shards\, and soprano Elina Netšajeva.

BLCK SUN is a metaphor for a state of one submerging into their inner chaos. By exploring the juxtaposition of themes of chaos and order\, darkness and light from visual and audial perspectives\, performers take the viewer on a journey through different spaces of the inner labyrinth. This piece is based on the artist’s experiences of these contrasts. What happens when one realizes there are no remnants of the old order? The piece is experienced in spatial audio and performed in real-time using analog synthesizers\, digital instruments\, and visual programming networks that interact to create a time-sensitive\, immersive audio-visual environment that enhances how the audience perceives the story.\nAMIANGELIKA & 1100 ///  form a dynamic audiovisual duo combining innovative artistry and music production. AMIANGELIKA\, an award-winning new media and experience artist based in London\, focuses on the interplay between image and sound\, and machine-human interaction. Her work features fully generative\, real-time rendered pieces that respond to live inputs such as audio or motion tracking sensors\, creating immersive audiovisual environments that help to reinforce and broaden the physical perception of a space. 1100\, the pseudonym of London-based composer and electronic music producer Erik Hanson\, delves into the convergence of disparate sounds and patterns\, blending analog and digital realms to create unique auditory textures. Together\, AMIANGELIKA & 1100 produce compelling\, performance-based and installation-based works that push the boundaries of artistic experience. ICARUS – a joint project by AMIANGELIKA & 1100 in 2024 made it to the shortlist of the British One Dance UK award in the Digital Innovation in Dance category. Rather than presenting a fixed composition\, Hoshiko Yamane and Makoto Sakamoto develop musical form through continuous listening\, interaction\, and response. The electric violin functions as part of a live electronic system in which signal processing\, feedback\, resonance\, and spatial projection continuously influence one another. Layers of sound gradually reveal shifting harmonic relationships while moments of density and silence reshape the perception of time and space. Rather than telling a complete narrative\, the performance offers fragments from which listeners may discover their own journeys. Memories\, personal associations\, and imagined stories emerge differently for each individual\, making every experience unique. Each realization responds to the acoustic characteristics of the venue and the conditions of the moment\, creating a sonic architecture that exists only through the interaction between performers\, space\, and audience.\nYamane + Sakamoto/// A duo featuring Hoshiko Yamane\, violinist of Tangerine Dream and classically trained composer\, and Makoto Sakamoto\, who shapes live electronic spaces through sound construction and real-time processing. Within Sakamoto’s layered waves of abstract\, quasi-mechanical tones and dense noise textures\, harmonic structures begin to emerge. Yamane’s razor-sharp precision and distinctly classical expressiveness move through this shifting field—at times merging with it\, at times cutting through it with striking clarity. Their performances are marked by intensity\, control\, and a strong sense of structure.\n \n\n/// Tactile  [A/V performance] cineconcerto by Leonardo Carrano Through a stereoscopic vision\, the film investigates the evolutions of the matter that organically inhabits the 35mm film\, staging a tactile and sensitive perception that\, abandoning the ocular scopic regime\, plunges into an incorporeal experience where unconscious humanity and interstellar universes seem to touch. The music\, composed and performed live by Francesco Massaro\, seeks a non-literal relationship with the image\, while remaining faithful to the director’s creative processes; thus creating a double within a double\, in which the sound also follows the subversion of the natural order of the senses\, seeking itself to be touched.\nFrancesco Massaro/// Sax player\, composer and sound artist whose practice unfolds at the intersection of improvisation\, composition\, and sonic research. Working with saxophones\, clarinets and live electronics\, he investigates sound as a material\, embodied\, and perceptual phenomenon\, developing performance environments in which acoustic and electronic processes continuously reshape one another. His work treats the instrument as an unstable and evolving system\, where feedback\, resonance\, friction\, and micro-variation become compositional forces. Situated within a fluid territory spanning experimental music\, avant-jazz\, contemporary composition\, electronic practices\, and ethnic traditions\, his artistic research explores emergent forms\, relational listening\, and the poetics of transformation. His projects frequently extend beyond music\, engaging dialogue with space\, image\, language\, and the body. A student of Gianni Lenoci\, Massaro has received recognition from institutions and critics. He has presented his work throughout Italy and Europe at festivals and venues dedicated to contemporary sound practices\, including AngelicA\, Tempo Reale and Area Sismica.\n \n\n/// Somatic Resonance [multimedia installation] Somatic Resonance investigates the transmutation of biological data into mechanical energy\, exploring the threshold where the organic body merges with digital and sonic infrastructure. Visitors’ heartbeats\, detected by biometric sensors\, are extracted and re-injected into a synthetic structure. Membranes are set into vibration by electroacoustic transducers\, manifesting digital flesh through sub-low frequencies that act directly on matter. A system of translucent communicating vessels acts as an informational circulatory apparatus\, connecting the human body to the machine in a visceral flow of data. The work shifts the focus from the visual representation of flesh to its vibratory persistence\, transforming the exhibition space into a sensitive organism. When multiple users interact simultaneously\, the installation evolves into a collective ecosystem generating interference. In this tension between synchrony and chaos\, Somatic Resonance seeks to redefine sound and technology as a disturbing extension of the human nervous system.\nre_derma /// is a multimedia artistic duo born as a collective in 2024\, active in installation\, performative digital practices\, and audiovisual live-sets. Their research investigates the body in its most intimate and carnal relationship with technology and structures of power\, focusing on the contemporary digital ecosystem: Artificial Intelligence\, biohacking\, and the digitalization of desire and the body. The project takes shape in interactive installations\, experiential spaces\, A/V performances\, and multi-screen scenographies. Within these environments\, technology becomes an extension of the body\, and the subjectivities that move through the works are invited into an active engagement that destructures the logics of control and questions the boundaries between real and virtual\, turning the body into a transducer of impulses. The collective has presented its work in contexts such as LIMINAL SPACE\, Studio Tiepolo 38\, the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome\, Manifatture Knos (Lecce)\, and Parsec (Bologna)\, as well as in Roman venues such as Esc Atelier\, Casa delle Donne di Roma\, Trenta Formiche\, La Redazione di Scomodo\, Forte Prenestino\, Alibi Club\, and Angelo Mai. \n\n\n \n\n \n\n© Yamane + Sakamoto\n \n\n \n\n© Francesco Massaro

The small crushed by the outsized: an island\, a city\, a mind under the many forms of “over” we inhabit — overtourism\, which the duo experiences at first hand between Florence and Capri; the flood of information that promises awareness and delivers distraction; the strain every excess places on the ecosystems — natural\, urban\, mental — that sustain us. On stage\, sound behaves like an ecosystem. Fragile equilibria are enriched by new presences: it is not presence that breaks them\, but excess — proliferations that thicken into chaos and consume the balance that had made room for them. Much of the duo’s sound is born from almost nothing: background noise channelled into feedback circuits (no-input) until it proliferates into matter — noise itself turned into excess; around it\, pre-recorded fragments — voices of protest — reworked live\, and the ticking of a timer\, time running out as it all unfolds. Dense saturation alternates with deep stillness\, in a free improvisation grounded in mutual listening: what happens when what we take for enrichment begins to devour us?\nH7-25 /// is the electroacoustic duo of Gianluca Catuogno (Capri) and Damiano Meacci (Florence). Born from a shared urge to improvise\, the duo builds its music from essential means: everyday objects\, small folk instruments and self-built electronics\, explored through close listening and transformed live into events\, textures and form. Each performance reshapes itself around the space that hosts it. H7-25 has performed at Tempo Reale Festival (Florence)\, Resonant Edge Festival (UK) and Audio Art Festival (Kraków)\, and in residency at Château Éphémère (Paris). Gianluca Catuogno is an electronic musician\, composer and music therapist. He has created a sound installation for sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro\, written music for theatre (with Roberto Saviano and Mimmo Borrelli) and film\, and explores live electronics in music therapy. He teaches at the Tito Schipa Conservatory in Lecce. Damiano Meacci is a musician and sound researcher\, member of Tempo Reale since 1996\, performing live electronics for Luciano Berio and many others\, from Teatro alla Scala to IRCAM. His music for Nina\, with soprano Claron McFadden\, is touring internationally. He teaches at the Cherubini Conservatory in Florence. \n\n/// Void  [smartphone network performance] Void arises from an exploration of the contemporary paradox: connection as a form of isolation. In a hyperconnected system\, constant access to personalized visual\, sonic\, and informational content generates increasingly separate individual experiences. The illusion of a shared space fragments into perceptual micro-universes\, calibrated for a single subject.\nThe performance questions the concept of spatialization\, no longer as an extension\, but as a contraction of space. A shared loudspeaker system constructs a common acoustic environment\, while the audience’s smartphones introduce another perceptual layer: private perceptual spaces\, accessible only to those who temporarily hold them. Controlled in real time by the performer\, these parallel experiences create a shifting relationship between collective listening and individual perception. Void invites the audience to reflect on the threshold between the personal and the collective\, asking whether there is something that no one can perceive alone.\nLorenzo Ballerini ///  is an Italian sound and new media artist and researcher based in Florence. He is Professor of Electroacoustic Music and Multimedia Arts at the Conservatory of Trapani. His practice explores sound\, space\, and digital media through performances and installations focused on social interaction and collective behaviour. His work has been presented at ADE Festival\, Artech\, Berlin Biennale\, Bright Festival\, CHB Berlin\, Diffrazioni Festival\, Fabbrica Europa\, Gaida Festival\, ICSC\, IRCAM-WAC\, MA/IN Festival\, MEFF\, SMC\, and Tempo Reale Festival. He has collaborated with artists including Alvise Vidolin\, Christine Meisner\, Michele Marasco\, Nicola Sani\, Paolo Parisi\, Roberto Fabbriciani\, and Tiziano Manca.\n \n\n/// Mani Rotte  [mixed media]  is a moment devoted to improvisation for electric guitar and live electronics\, and it uses no score. A melody\, or a small cell\, is developed\, redefined and transformed into a continuous dialogue between instrument\, gesture and compositional thought: improvisation\, body\, space and memory are at the heart of its research. In a hyper-productive and hyper-descriptive age\, the project chooses to withdraw toward the foundational materials of a path — texts\, melodies and harmonies — in order to reread them through contemporary tools. It recycles and reinterprets the past without indulging in formalism\, seeking an essential\, unhurried listening\, one able to counter the perceptual frenzy of the present. Mani Rotte does not claim to invent something new: it questions the very idea of originality\, generating new awareness around material that already exists. Close to improvisation on a theme and variations\, its aim is to reactivate listening and to offer fresh perspectives\, without sweetening or new terminology. It is the real-time sound-processing tools that define\, time after time\, the form and structure of the performance.\nSimone Grande /// is an Italian guitarist and sound designer. He moved to Bologna to study classical guitar with Walter Zanetti; after graduating he continued in electronic music and sound design\, focusing on improvisation through a Master’s in Electroacoustic Improvisation. Over more than three decades\, Fennesz has redefined the possibilities of the electric guitar\, transforming it through digital processing into vast\, immersive soundscapes where melody\, noise\, and texture merge seamlessly. Mosaic unfolds as a series of interconnected sonic fragments—shimmering harmonies\, fractured rhythms\, and luminous distortions that constantly shift between abstraction and emotional immediacy. Rather than reproducing the album on stage\, Fennesz’s live performances evolve in the moment\, balancing meticulous sound design with improvisation and spontaneity. The result is a deeply atmospheric experience that invites listeners into a world where fragile beauty emerges from digital complexity\, confirming Fennesz as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary electronic music.\nFENNESZ ///  is the solo project of Austrian musician\, composer\, and sound artist Christian Fennesz (b. 1962\, Vienna). Since the early 1990s\, he has been one of the most influential figures in electronic and experimental music\, renowned for his distinctive fusion of guitar\, digital processing\, noise\, and ambient textures. International recognition came with Endless Summer (2001)\, now regarded as a landmark of electronic music. Acclaimed albums including Venice (2004)\, Black Sea (2008)\, Bécs (2014)\, Agora (2019)\, and Mosaic (2024) further developed his singular sonic language. Alongside his solo work\, Fennesz has collaborated with artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto\, Alva Noto\, David Sylvian\, Jim O’Rourke\, Keith Rowe\, King Midas Sound\, and Lillevan. Performing worldwide for over three decades\, his live shows combine improvisation\, intricate sound design\, and emotional depth\, establishing him as one of the defining voices in contemporary electronic music. \n\nBreath VI [mixed media] /// Since 2020\, I have been developing a composition series titled Breath. This series explores the delicate interplay between noise and pitch\, aiming to articulate the subtle nuances and gentle gestures of sound. My goal is to weave together diverse sonic materials\, creating a rich mosaic where each sound resonates with purpose. By 2024\, I had composed six pieces in the Breath series\, each employing distinct instrumentation for varied sonic purposes\, providing multiple musical and conceptual perspectives on the theme of “breath.” Breath VI\, composed for accordion virtuoso Anthony Millet\, premiered at the ManiFeste Academy Festival\, IRCAM in June 2024. In this piece\, I employ electronics as an inner voice within the sound envelope\, enhancing the acoustic instrument with vivid and nuanced movements of inner voices. The fixed media and live electronics animate the accordion’s sound\, transforming the soundscape into a variety of sonic shapes\, gestures\, and expressions\, thereby adding depth to the sound.\nGeli Li /// is a Chinese-American composer whose musical journey spans Asia\, Europe\, and the United States. With over two decades of experience as a contemporary classical composer\, she has cultivated a prolific portfolio spanning both acoustic and electronic media\, advancing Eastern and Western musical traditions through a distinctive contemporary idiom. Her works have been performed by more than forty leading ensembles and orchestras worldwide\, including Talea Ensemble\, Klangforum Wien\, Alarm Will Sound\, and Orchestra of St. Luke’s\, among others.\n Recognized with more than fifty honors and distinctions\, her work has received awards including the Henri Lazarof International Commission Prize and the Luigi Nono International Composition Prize\, and has been supported through fellowships\, residencies\, and commissions at the Gaudeamus Festival\, DeGaetano Composition Institute\, Copland House\, the Mizzou International Composers Festival\, IRCAM’s ManiFeste\, the Rodamúsic Composers Residency in Spain\, and the Intimacy of Creativity at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.\nMichele Bianco/// graduated with honors in accordion from the “T. Schipa” Conservatory in Lecce under the guidance of Germano Scurti. A laureate of major international competitions\, he won first prizes at “Città di Castelfidardo”\, the 20th Val Tidone International Prize\, and the 12th National Arts award. He achieved top podium finishes at the Coupe Mondiale\, Trophée Mondial de l’accordéon and the “G. Zinetti” International Music Award. He regularly performs as a soloist\, with orchestras and in ensembles. His career includes appearances on Rai 1 and French TV\, collaborations with many musicians and performances at festivals worldwide\, from Lithuania to China. A champion of new music\, he has worked with international composers to expand the bayan repertoire (notably at “ComposersPlus” in Lithuania). In 2019\, his trio “Lecce Accordion Project” released the album Gogol under Maffucci Music\, featuring contemporary works. He released an album with the chamber ensemble “Sirius Accordion Trio” on Da Vinci Classics\, featuring music written specifically for accordion trio. SUMMARY:MA/IN[X] - PLAY~ il performativo in musica [vol.2]
DESCRIPTION:© LOXOS [Play~]\n \n🎟 free – cultural aperitivo included\nh 18.30\nGiacomo Fronzi [IT] /// PLAY~ il performativo in musica [vol.1]: Cage e gli altri\n* MA/IN ACADEMY \nIn the first of three planned meetings\, we began exploring the constellations of performance\, starting from a few lexical\, semantic\, and conceptual clarifications. Moving from the distinction between the performative\, performativity\, and performance\, we gradually approached the so-called “performative turn” of the 1960s\, focusing on how it played out within music. In the second meeting\, we will focus above all on one of the undisputed protagonists of that era\, John Cage. After reconstructing his biography\, we will focus on some essential milestones of his output\, as well as the role he played in the development of the performing arts in the second half of the twentieth century. In addition to Cage\, we will also frame other central figures of the musical landscape of those decades: George Brecht\, Nam June Paik\, and La Monte Young. \nGiacomo Fronzi /// is Associate Professor at the University of Bari Aldo Moro\, where he teaches Aesthetics\, Aesthetics of the Performing Arts\, and Aesthetics of Music. He holds degrees in Philosophy (Lecce) and Musicology (Venice)\, a PhD in Philosophy\, and a diploma in Piano. He is the author of around one hundred publications\, eight of which are monographs. His main books include Theodor W. Adorno. Pensiero critico e musica\, Philosophical Considerations on Contemporary Music\, Electrosound. Storia ed estetica della musica elettroacustica\, Percorsi musicali del Novecento. Storie\, personaggi\, poetiche da Schönberg a Sciarrino\, and Performance. Un itinerario filosofico e storico-artistico. For Treccani’s Enciclopedia della musica contemporanea\, he wrote the entries “Rivoluzioni e musica\,” “Musica sperimentale\,” “Razzismo e musica\,” and “Canzone di protesta.” He writes program notes for concert organizations and institutions\, and has contributed to the newspaper Il Manifesto and to Micromega. These bodies drift between the fragile and the tectonic\, suspended through exchanges of energy and dancing on the threshold of stability. The work unfolds as an osmotic field of tension—a continuous becoming shaped by visceral forces intertwined with a technologically mediated reality. R. Duni” di Matera (classi di composizione e musica elettronica); coordinamento: M° Roberto Vetrano \n\n/// The word Changüí is a common expression in Rioplatense lunfardo (the slang traditionally spoken in Argentina and Uruguay)\, referring to an advantage\, a benefit\, a concession. In this work\, the gestures and sonic materials produced by the violin are gradually taken up\, extended\, and transformed by the electronics\, which offer them a kind of “second chance” or continuation: changüí becomes a musical metaphor. Rather than merely imitating the instrument\, the electronics establish a dialogue with it\, opening up an additional space for expression. [Rocío Cano Valiño]\nFrises focused on the idea of one historical ostinato variation form. The first part “Frise jaune” is a prelude\, a flexible improvisation around a constant D\, coloured by harmonics and the electronic part consisting of bell sounds. This part is also inspired by the idea of carillon. The second part “Frise de fleurs” is based on a harmony created on a ground bass. Sequences of successive chords are gradually enriched before opening to achieve a more free and lyrical development. [Kaija Saariaho]\n \nGiovanna Sevi /// is an Italian violinist based in Paris. Born in 1999\, she pursued her studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris\, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Ghent.\nAt the heart of her artistic project lie contemporary creation and dialogue with composers. She collaborated with the Ensemble Intercontemporain\, Musikfabrik\, L’Itinéraire\, and Ictus\, and with composers like Georges Aperghis\, Marco Stroppa\, George Benjamin\, Beat Furrer\, Stefano Gervasoni.Laureate of the Lucerne Festival\, she has performed as a soloist at Manifeste Festival (IRCAM\, 2025)\, Festival Présences (Radio France\, 2026)\, Impuls Festival (Graz\, 2025)\, Festival Propagations (Marseille\, 2024)\, Mixtur Festival (Barcelona\, 2024)\, Blurred Edges Festival (Hamburg\, 2026)\, Meridian Festival (Bucharest\, 2024)\, Festival Messiaen aux Pays de la Meije (La Grave\, 2024). DESCRIPTION:©Mutek Montreal [Interférences] \n🎟 ticket in vendita presso il  Teatro Guerrieri fino esaurimento posti\n▷ apertura porte h 20.00\n \n▷ concerto\nh 20.30\n⦿ Alexis Langevin-Tétrault [CA] /// Interférences\nlive performance \nh 21.00\n⦿ Rami Syahbandi [ID] /// Tanah Tanah\nA/V percussion performance \n\n/// Interférence (String Network) is an audiovisual performance that explores the possibilities of embodiment of an electroacoustic work in real time through gestural interaction with a unique device. On stage\, an audioreactive play of light unfolds gradually: Alexis Langevin-Tétrault builds a network of strings with which he interacts to create a sound universe between the industrial noise\, electronica and acousmatic music. Through the staging of corporality and the dialectical relationship between the human and the machine\, Interférences (String Network) presents an allegory of the globalized and interconnected modern world in which the individual seeks to derive meaning from his experience and attempts to preserve its freedom of action. Alexis Langevin-Tétrault proposes a singular universe and infuses a live dynamic to a musical genre rarely incarnated by performance.\nAlexis Langevin-Tétrault /// is an interdisciplinary artist and composer based in Montreal and born in Baie-Comeau\, Canada. He has contributed to a variety of projects such as the collectives Aubes\, Falaises\, DATANOISE\, QUADr and ILEA\, in addition to solo audiovisual performances such as REPLIKAS\, Hypercube (one) and Interférences (String Network). His work explores the concept of corporality and is characterized by the design of audiovisual devices\, physical performance\, scenographic and dramaturgic work\, exploration of sound synthesis\, and also conceptual and social reflection. His work has been presented in more than 110 international events and 25 countries\, such as Ars Electronica (AT)\, L.E.V. (ESP)\, MUTEK (CA)(ES)(JP)\, Biennale NÉMO (FR)\, Transart (IT)\, ADAF (GR)\, Intonal (SWE)\, NEXT (SVK)\, BIAN-Elektra (CA)\, ISEA (KR)(CA)\, Akousma (CA) and Espace du son (BE). Alexis Langevin-Tétrault also released more than 20 electronic music albums. His audio work was rewarded by Foundation Destellos (AR) in 2014 and 2015\, by SOCAN Foundation (CA) in 2015\, and also by Exhibitronic Festival (FR)\, International Electroacoustic Music Week (FR) and fondation Musiques & Recherches (BE) in 2016. \n\n/// Tanah Tanah is a cross-disciplinary electronic media work that combines audio\, visual\, and performative installation as an experimental medium to examine the ecological\, social\, and economic relationships behind illegal gold mining practices in the interior of West Kalimantan. This work utilizes an ecological soundscape approach and photographic visual architecture to form a sensory narrative that connects data\, landscape\, and experience. Technically\, the installation utilizes two 12-inch subwoofer speaker systems that emit infrasonic signals to trigger rhythmic patterns that function as both musical instruments and sound sources.\nRami Syahbandi /// is a Pontianak-based sound and visual artist whose work explores socio-environmental and cultural convergence through electronic media\, installations\, and visual art. He has been involved in and worked on a variety of projects\, ranging from acoustic compositions to video works\, electronic music production\, engineering\, media installations\, and multi-channel audio.\n \n\n\n \n\n \n\n© Alexis Langevin-Tétrault\n \n\n \n\n© Rami Syahbandi
